ST. GEORGE — State police arrested a St. George woman accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the church she worked for.
Lynn Evans Myers, 67, was arrested by the S.C. Law Enforcement Division on Aug. 2 and charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent of $10,000 or more. She was taken to the Dorchester County Detention Center.

Myers is accused of stealing $51,664.34 from St. George United Methodist Church in Dorchester County from February 2019 until July 2023, according to a SLED arrest warrant.
Myers was employed by the church at the time and had responsibility over church funds, according to the warrant.
Myers used the church’s credit cards to purchase almost $40,000 worth of goods on apple.com, according to the warrant. SLED also accused her of depositing $12,300 into her personal bank account.
