As a student at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, I am upset when I see criticism of our university expressed without any attempt to understand the situation. It is important to recognize that many problems arise at the level of society, not the educational institution. Don't rush to place all the blame on the college.
It is often said that colleges fail to cope with the social activity of students, but change is only possible through inspiration, not coercion. Our teachers, especially in the fields of science & sociology, try their best to motivate us despite resource limitations.
Students sometimes have vague & extreme expectations, but the world is not black & white. Teachers teach us to see & create miracles in everyday life, emphasizing the importance of deep insight and sincere inspiration.
I believe in every student, including those who doubt themselves. We are capable of great things, and instead of criticizing, we should support each other & strive for a brighter future together.

SUNY Polytechnic can be really good if you get lucky with your professors. Otherwise, the campus life is very limited, as the student population is very small. The housing is very good, and it's a beautiful campus. The food is mid, however. There is also no life outside of the campus, Utica is a small town, whose population is getting older and dwindling. Overall, if you are here purely for academics, you will still need to be lucky to have a good professors.
