The Aviva Stadium is located on Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 with an Eircode (post code) of K5F9. It is reachable by four primary methods of transport: Dublin Bus, DART (rail), Luas and coach.
It is also possible to take any of the above methods of transport into the city centre before taking a roughly 40-minute walk to the stadium.
There is also the option of a taxi - if you were to hail a taxi from O'Connell Street, the city's main thoroughfare, this would set you back between €10-16, and the journey takes around 20 minutes. However, this may vary due to the likelihood of increased traffic heading towards the venue on the night.
First of all, it is important to note that a Leap card is available for travel on Dublin Bus, Luas and DART when travelling within Dublin. This will be handy on the day as it will make your trip more seamless and without the need to handle coins to pay your fares.
You can purchase a Leap card online here or in-store in most newsagents in Dublin. You can top them up in-store too, or by using the Leap card app which you can download here.
Dublin Bus
The following Dublin Bus routes serve the Aviva Stadium: 1, 4, 7, 7a, 38, 38a, C1, C2 and 47.
Routes 1, 4, 7, 7a, 38 and 38a go straight down O'Connell Street where you will find a series of bus stops stationed the way down towards the River Liffey. If getting the bus on this street, you will be aiming to board the bus when it is heading southwards i.e. towards the River Liffey.
Routes C1 and C2 do not go down O'Connell Street, but cross it by turning off a quay called Bachelors Walk before turning right onto O'Connell Bridge heading southwards. These two buses can be boarded on Bachelors Walk and you will alight at Tritonville Road in Sandymount which is a 10-minute walk from the stadium.
Route 47 can be boarded from Townsend Street on the southside of the River Liffey. From here, you will also get off at the Tritonville Road stop before making the same walk.
DART
DART (rail) offers a service to and from Lansdowne Road Station which is immediately adjacent to the Aviva Stadium. The DART operates from the Dublin city centre stations of Connolly, Tara Street and Pearse Street.
DART runs along the coast of Dublin from Malahide or Howth (North Dublin), via Dublin city centre as far south as Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
Connolly Train Station, Tara Street and Pearse Street Stations in the city centre will bring you southbound to Landsdowne Road DART Station in no longer than 15 minutes.
Luas
Whilst the Luas does not extend as far as the stadium itself, it is useful for getting into the city centre where you will be able to avail of the transport links detailed above.
There are two Luas lines - green and red - which serve various suburbs of Dublin after passing through the city centre. The closest stop to the Aviva Stadium is the Charlemont stop on the green line, but bear in mind it is a 25-minute walk from the concert venue.
Coach
You can get a Dublin Express coach from Dublin Airport to the Aviva Stadium by routes Routes 782 and 784. There are stops outside Terminals 1 and 2.
For those getting the 784 service to Dublin City Centre and South, it is recommended to get off at the Merrion Square stop. You will be a 15-minute walk away from the Aviva Stadium.
For the visitors on the 782 service to Dublin City Centre and Heuston Station, you can simply get off the coach at George’s Quay. From here, you will need to hop on a DART at Tara Street station and disembark at Lansdowne Road station. This DART journey there only takes around 10 minutes.
